This past Monday, we had the joy of celebrating National Popcorn Day in a big way—live on WISHTV Lifestyle Live with host Marlee Thomas! Our very own Haley, VP of Marketing and Merchandising, headed to the WISHTV studio in downtown Indianapolis to share both of our brands (Poppin’ Cobs and Burlington Farms) and, of course, plenty of popcorn.
The day didn’t start without its challenges. Between a cold, windy Indiana winter, last-minute childcare changes, and illness in the family, the journey downtown was anything but easy. Thankfully, we arrived safely at the WISHTV headquarters, ready to celebrate and warm up inside the studio—where the atmosphere was welcoming and the popcorn was popping.
During the segment, Haley had a blast introducing viewers to our new popcorn popper, a truly unique way to enjoy popcorn at home. This innovative popper lets you see the magic happen in real time, as a Poppin’ Cob pops right off the cob inside your microwave. Watching it pop is half the fun—and it never fails to impress.
Marlee and Haley also sampled our best-selling white cheddar popcorn, a fan favorite for good reason. Haley even hinted that there may be future opportunities to purchase the seasoning on its own, after hearing from customers who love the flavor so much they’ve started sprinkling it on everything from popcorn to mac ’n cheese.
We’re so grateful to Marlee Thomas and the WISHTV Lifestyle Live team for helping us celebrate National Popcorn Day, and we’re incredibly proud of Haley for representing our brands with such enthusiasm—especially on a day that required a little extra perseverance.
The excitement didn’t stop when the cameras turned off. Later that Monday night, the Indiana Hoosiers went on to win the National Football Championship, making it a truly historic day for the state of Indiana. With our Burlington Grain & Produce Team largely made up of loyal Purdue Boilermakers at heart, it made for an especially interesting evening as we decided who to cheer for during such a groundbreaking game. Rivalries aside, it was impossible not to appreciate the significance of the moment and celebrate a win that put Indiana in the national spotlight… of course while enjoying our popcorn from the comfort of our home!
Another fun highlight: Owners, Adam and Haley, recently took their kids to a Purdue Basketball Game for the very first time! Marlee was at the game announcing, as she still covers Purdue Men’s Basketball games at home in West Lafayette, Indiana. Go Boilers!
